HIGHER GROW RECORDING STUDIO is a non commercial recording fascility. No profit is made here... It is merely a studio for demo recording, and adding audio tracks to a midi composition in a pro way. Although the quality of the achieved results is quite allright, we obviously don't have the most expensive equipement (see list), but what we have is operated in an efficient way...

The HIGHER GROW RECORDING STUDIO was started by Funkey and Michiel Van Poucke. Michiel completed his studies "Image, Sound and Montage", at the RITCS (a well known school, where most Belgian sound technicians learn their skill).
He first worked for Ampli (audio productions), then as a sound engineer for NV Amusement (television productions) and actually he works for VRT radio, where he mixes live radio broadcasts.
Michiel is also a musician and started to sing and play guitar when he was still very young. He played in several bands.( His first band was : The Weirdo's, with Chris Lybeert and Bert Cornelis, playing mainly covers from The Sonics,The Ramones,...next to their own songs. Actually he plays in Agent Cooker)

Now the studio is being rebuilt. We first worked with analogue equipment, but we've sold the 3M 24track tape machine, and the DNR 38channel mixing console (series 4000) . Now we are able to record audio tracks to the harddisk, and create an unlimited amount of midi tracks.


Because HIGHER GROW RECORDING STUDIO is not meant to make profit, we of course cannot spend all of our time recording and mixing. We rather record music we like. Any style will do, but we like it dubwise...

The HIGHER GROW RECORDING STUDIO offers a nice, but professional atmosphere. Any arrangement can be made. On top of the equipement we have, we can always hire a perfect set of microphones. For mixing down, we can hire a rack with Xtra compressors, gates and other studio effects. We also did recordings, for C.D.releases on ADAT (also hired...). This doesn't make things cheaper of course... Recordings are available on D.A.T. or audioCD
